BioHi, my name is Ally. This is partly an icon journal, partly where I rant about things. This is going to focus on the one part of my life that I keep secret from everyone, my battle with anorexia.
I'll be 23 years old in December, and have been fighting this disease since I was 12 or 13. I also suffer from bipolar disorder, but am not currently medicated for either. I expect that to change in the coming months as both conditions have been deteriorating. I also suffer from ADD, minor dyslexia (more apparent in my writing than my reading), and undefined memory problems (basically I have issues moving things from short term to long term memory).
I'm not your classic pro-ana, whiny teenager who complains life isn't fair. I've been dealt a bad lot, but many are worse off. I've never had hallucinations for example, for which I'm glad. However one cannot bottle their feelings, so occasionally you'll see outbursts of "this sucks!". Yea, it does suck, but I attempt to move on.
Names and facts have been changed to help protect my identity. I am still in hiding about my illness, and am not ready to face recovery, nor the disappointment of my peers.
